Founded in 2019, Cape Ann COSMOS newsletter provides an omnibus of cultural events and destinations happening across Greater Cape Ann.

The COSMOS Culture Calendar, is a chronological guide to some of the most interesting events happening in the greater Cape Ann region.

Updated regularly with fresh content, including alerts for exhibition openings and closings, the calendar is searchable by date, venue, and category making it easy to plan ahead or make a spur-of-the-moment decision.

CAPE ANN PLEIN AIR 2025
October 4–12

After a year of planning the Cape Ann Plein Air week will soon be here.  With 35 exceptional artists vying for prize money, and many other associated events and experiences to be enjoyed. The opening reception, Beauport Hotel, October 6, 6-8pm, will feature the artists with their first works. The Friday evening Gala is when prize money is awarded, and smart collectors pick up fine and fresh artwork. CAPA Gala tickets
 
CAMPUS CULTURAL LIFE
Adults take notice, the campuses of Gordon College and Endicott College offer many high- quality events accessible to the general public. On October 3, Gordon College will feature two musicians, Sandeep Das (tabla) & Mike Block (cello/vocals), who originally met as members of Yo-Yo Ma’s Grammy Award-winning Silkroad Ensemble. Gordon Tickets. Endicott College events currently include an exhibition by local artist Susan Ulrich, reception October 9, 5-7pm. 

 
Deborah Read, Goetemann Artist-in-Residence, will give a talk on October 5, addressing the question: Does art have to be an object? At the Carlson Education Center, on CAM Green, culture students can learn more about the artist John Sloan, on October 16 and repeating October 23.  
 
GALA WATCH 
In addition to CAPA’s Gala on October 10 (tickets) the Gloucester Writers Center will celebrate 15 years of literature advocacy with a special Fish Tales: Misbehaving, at Shalin Liu on October 16. Misbehaving Tickets. PEM’s November Gala includes a swell after-party, from 8:30pm, with an Andrew Gn theme and dancing. PEM Gala Tickets.   
  
For an outdoor break visit the Manchester Harvestfest & Carnival at Masconomo Park on October 17-19—with rides, live music, donuts, cider, and other seasonal treats.
